  “I am a sole practitioner and have faced the challenge of developing a satisfactory and affordable client matter management system for many years.  EXpd8 has only been installed on my laptop for 4 weeks however I can already see the benefits.

The program conveniently utilises the other software and operating systems installed on my laptop.  I am now able to electronically save within one client folder all correspondence (both incoming and outgoing), emails, telephone and conference file notes.  This enables me to free up my email space and I can now confidently say that all correspondence and attendances in whatever form of media are stored together and are easily accessible.

The electronic diary means that I no longer juggle two diaries. Wherever I am, I have access to my files, my diary and my contact telephone list.

I am keen to experience some of the other features of the software.  The time costing feature will inform me how much a fixed fee matter is really worth in terms of my time.  This will no doubt assist me in the future quotation of my costs for various matters.

The software is inexpensive, easily installed and very user friendly.  If you practice on your own and like me work from more than one location this software if for you.

  “I am a sole practitioner with a business which is predominantly commercial, commercial litigation and insolvency. I do not employ staff and work from a chambers practice. I use Lawware as my accounting system and have done so since 2001.

I was attracted to eXpd8 through the introduction of Lawware in March 2008 and I have used eXpd8 in conjunction with Lawware since that time.

eXpd8 syncs with Lawware and I have no issues with creating my account and matter management information in Lawware and that information being integrated into eXpd8.

I have found eXpd8 useful and efficient as a documentary repository, as an electronic data base and electronic filing system in which I scan my incoming and outgoing correspondence, I scan the  documents and evidence relevant to a file directly into the electronic file and it stores that information in chronological order, and I can store my emails directly to a file all of which is achieved quickly and efficiently. eXpd8 has a strong and efficient searching capability to allow me to recover my data  and images, whether they be .pdf or .tif images quickly. Further it allows me, in conjunction with Dragon Naturally Speaking to dictate my file notes directly to the file and keep it as text, which allows me to store and recover the information quickly. In this respect I have found eXpd8 a convenient and efficient means of managing my files electronically.

The principal advantage I see in the program is allows me to work from my laptop and have the file or number of files that I am working from with me at all times with images of the documents without me having to physically carry those files or parts of files with me.

eXpd8 has a brief generating function with which I can create electronic briefs to counsel. The brief generator creates a paginated chronology indexed to images of the documents which I can print or store electronically. It allows me to brief counsel electronically in a well organised and efficient manner. Further it allows me to customise the information and electronically tag it so that I may search for it quickly and intuitively.

I have found eXpd8 staff friendly and helpful. They have been responsive and available to my training needs.  The technical support queries that I have had have been responded to quickly.”

I find Expd8 to be user friendly, easy to navigate.

The application enables efficient storage of communications, both internal and external thereby providing easy accessibility to historical records. It eliminates to some degree paper and file handling, with the scanning facility.

The address book facility makes for easy contact with clients and the message facility supports internal communications in a small “hands on” office.

Whilst we are not yet using the template function, I find the option of being able to copy documents from one file to another useful and time saving.

I believe it is likely that most client queries regarding historical information could be satisfied without needing to access archived matter. Again this is time saving and enables the provision of better customer service.
